Prof. Sylvia Schwaag Serger has spent 20 years working with research and innovation policy. Among other things, she was Director for International Strategy at the Swedish Government Agency VINNOVA (2008-2018), chaired an EU Expert Group on international STI cooperation, ran an independent think tank and advises national governments. From 2018-2020 she was Deputy Vice Chancellor of Lund University. She has an MA from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and a PhD from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and was Guest Professor at the Chinese Academy of Sciences Institute for Policy Management (CASIPM) 2013-2016.
